so I was put on this 'topiramate experiment' but doctor upon doing so said only paracetamol! but i get cute migraines the type that cause week long hospital admissions... iv had a migrane for over a week and I have some sumatriptan but I don't know to take it or not  as it will interfere with if the topimax works or not :( as doc said if I take stuff he wont know if its that or topimax... but its titrating to 100 over 2 week gaps! so ages to go yet im only at 25 and in agony with  migraine and accompanying  neck pain and the usual  chest pain and freezing/roasting and swollen glands eeek . what to do?

Have you asked your doc what he wants you to do if the paracetamol doesn't cut it for you? I can't really say either way on how the sumatriptan and the topomax would be together. I'd give the doc a call and see what he wants you to do. If not you can't get ahold of him I certainly wouldn't sit and suffer with a migrane. If it were me I'd go to at least a First Care Center.

I take topomax but not for migranes. And just went back on the topomax for nerve pain and am still titrating up to 400mg. 25mg every week until I hit 400mg again. Just wanted to mention that 100 over a 2 week gap is a quick increase, topmax has the side effect of causing some short term memory issues if adjusted too quickly. And has been named by many as Dopomax.

The only thing that works on my migranes is an ER visit for an IV for compazine and I think its toradol. Works like a charm for me. I wish oral compazine worked as well.

oh noes I mean it steps up every 2 weeks not entirely over to weeks eep that would be a disaster! tho today im still in pain and ibs decided it wanted to join the party so bed day it is :/ , doc said nothing other than the paracetamol since as in last post I have allergies to a lot of other things and he wants to see what the topimax is doing :(. No idea what a fitst care center is I assume a us thing? im in Scotland and if I go to a&e they will just send me home as nout they can do as im undiagnosed....
