Also, how do you feel about the Lyrica? I didn't really notice great results until I was taking over 100mg. Take 150 now x3 a day. May bump up to 200 x3 a day.

i am proud of you, that is terrific. as the days go by i think you will find the somewhat unique oxymorphone is strong enough to grab hold of the pain enemy and the Opana IR 5mg is a real good switch from percocet. the hydromorphone is almost 1:1 with oxymorphone but the oxymorphone kicks in a little different than anything i ever have used. i was using the IR,(costs a lot), so i switched, but i had 10mg 2 tabs every 6hrs and it worked. the IR has up to 11hrs active life with the ER building and filling receptors you are now empowered. you were an ideal compliant patient. if you got that response from the V.A. you did great with the freedom to keep the pressure on pain enemy as things transpire. the hydromorphone is potent but apprx 2-3hrs it is done while your Opana IR will not take you through peaks and valleys. no your cooking with peanut oil, ha. NICK PS now as you feel like yourself look into some nutrient supplementation that will give your system amino acids to make pain filtering neurotransmitters.

Opana IR is immediate in relief.... not only by name - the IR means "immediate release" but that is also it's action. It doesn't need to build in your system or take time to work.

i surely will get back with all types of neurogenesis supplements which needs proteins which are comprised of 18-22 amino acids that have ability to connect on molecular level. a protein supplement in general will provide them and some are used individually like L-Glutamine or DL-Phenylalanine. you are right, there is so much to look at in this arena and the sad thing is none of that info is really taught in Medical or Pharmacology higher learning schools. also non FDA regulated or having clinical trials like in Europe and Germany would be the best as far as a scientific study of Eastern and Western healing systems. here, MONEY is all they care about. i am starting on a tangent, back to nausea, have you tried the OTC "Bonine" generic: Meclizine chewables? they have help me a bit and they also potentate the pain med a little. it is another anti-histamine but in different part of the family tree than Phenergan which is closer to Thorazine or Compazine. there is a medicine called Tigan which i do not know if a pill is available, IV and suppository. a doctor friend claims that is the best route. Ginger, Cinnamon, Kava, Marshmallow, Catnip, Chamomile made into tea is helpful. real trick until you adapt to the medicine is to not turn your head much and move the inner ear. or, try several medications like Vistaril and Compazine and prob you will find one that fits for you. good thing is almost all the meds also synergize with opioid analgesics. if you have nausea, it might mean the oxymorphone is working better and triggering a histamine flood. that is more likely to me than methadone w/d. also, the Opana IR is meant for breakthrough pain but it is not like the Percocet or Vicodin or Dilaudid or Morphine IR formulations. it is unique in its properties in that it takes apprx. 1.5 hours to peak or a bit longer where all the others apprx 15min-1hr. the Opana smoothly raises in your system which is the negative but positive is it lasts much longer than all other IR meds: apprx 4-9hrs. and i think it is a small dose for a long term pain patient. Opana IR 5mg is maybe 1:1 with a percocet 10/325 or the percocet may have an edge but totally different in drug properties. when i used the Opana IR i think i took up to 40mg for flares. we are all different but i hear the same thing you are saying almost every case when first started at a 5-10mg dose. the company says if you are opioid tolerant, which you are, 20-30mg every 4-6hrs and titrate every 24-48 hrs until relief. it is hard to guess equivalency when comparing to methadone but you are getting there.keep being honest and forth-coming like you do already and tell them the deal. can you go out and function and feel like yourself yet? if not keep in mind your pulse rate and blood pressure are prob up a bit and then we start to rust. i am rusty. i will get back with some supplement stuff. we got rain here so all shuts down. Thanks for the support, your are appreciated. It's great your quality of life is so much better off the methadone. I identify with practically "all" the side effects you were having on it, I mean that. That drug ripped off my energy, enthusiasm, appetite, sleep, motivation, joy, passion, and felt the only way to feel any better would be do increase it! No way! Never again! I'm still having some lower back pain and insomnia but I feel so much better.

I had about 5 hours sleep last night (off and on) after almost 48 hours of practically no sleep accept for 5 min. nod here and there. Sleep is such a coveted blessing right now and am thankful anytime I get "any of it.

How long before you got more than 2hrs sleep at a time?

Praying all the adverse effects of methadone would be reversed in our systems, bodies, emotions, etc. and that we would physically and emotionally feel like new creations, rebounding from the dullness and discouragement to an excited, hope filled outlook for our futures. -Mike
