Its hopegirl, aka Monica...I am just checking in, I've been lurking on cp and the fibro boards. I am back to working full time now. My fibro is of course rearing its ugly head. Getting my sleep is the key, if that isn't right, nothing else will be. With that being said, I have also been noticing for a while now that my pain level has increased. I think that my meds may need to be adjusted. I currently have a fentanyl patch .75 and I take .15 oxy's for break thru. I seem to have a lot of stiffness and pain around my lower back and tail bone area. I really don't want to go up in pain meds, it has been about 3.5 years with this medication. I was actually hoping to go down to the .50 patch but now it seems I may be doing the other.  I know that I am taking more breakthru meds than before. I keep thinking maybe it is just the weather and working. I think I will talk to my doctor about it and see what she says. I also need to get an xray to see what is going on with my lower back/hip area.

I know that no one wants to get an increase, but sometimes you have to do it to be more comfortable.

Blech! Add me to the no sleep list this week. I'm back on the sleep an hour up for two. repeat cycle over all night long. This cold weather is killing me. The snow today isn't helping either.

It's been a whirlwind of a week. Had a doc appointment last week. That turned into having to go and have a repeat thyroid ultrasound the next day. That ended with a phone call the next day that I needed to see the endo as soon as possible. I have tons of thyroid nodules that I knew about. But this time I have a dominant one that's gotten quite large and looks suspicous. So waiting on an appointment for that.

Still dealing with the broken foot. So trying not to do alot of walking if I don't have to. Haven't been very succesfull. Between all the kids activites lately and them just being on vacation for a week. Its not been easy.

Anyway we managed to get some more Christmas decorations up. Don't think the lights are going to get put up outside this year. Oh well such is life.

Grrr okay one more time. Lets see if my internet will let me post it this time before it dumps me. lol

I notice how many of us are deficient in Vit-D, and many of us take Rx strength.

Is there any correlation anyone knows of?

EDIT:Didn't mean to hijack the thread. This is where I noticed it. Still having a rough go of it after that nasty fall I took, so I may still me hung up on the "Check-In" thread in that regard. Hubby took a photo of my back and it looks like I was punched. It's been 4 1/2 days, looks half a maroon grapefruit under there. Call already made into my back surgeon. Thanks for listening.

I already take Rx 50,000 iu/week, so yep, got that covered. I'm going to OTC 2,000/day shortly.

I just never understood the correlation. I still don't. I just figured I was low on Vit-D in part because I don't get out much, but it wasn't until I started reading more and more on the forum about how common-place this deficiency seemed among those of us with CP that it even occurred to me there's some type of connection.

What that connection is, I still don't get.

Not a pleasant weekend in many ways.

Did some Christmas shopping Saturday, using the new walker. After spending 1 1/2 hours in Sam's, and without the walker, never could have lasted. Even sat on the seat a few times, and it definitely saved me a few times when both sides of my hip gave out at the same time.

Got my oldest to get all our Christmas stuff down from the attic. No more ladders or fold down stairs for this guy. Just the thought of that makes me cringe with fear.

By the time I got back from Church on Sunday, was in rough shape, and ended up spending most of afternoon in bed.

Plus, for the 5th weekend in a row here, it rained, and rained, and rained. Sick of that routine but I don't get to control the weather, lol.

Hoping this will be a better week, it has to be.

Still waiting for results of all the extensive blood work I had last week.
