Welcome to CP Jackie! Always hate saying that it just seems mean welcoming someone to pain! Well you know what I mean! Lol
We're sure glad you came over but sorry you had to have pain to get here. Have they said what that lesion may be and if they can do anything for it or about it?
Neuropathy is something most spineys deal with and in varying degrees. It's certainly something that can ruin your day with a flare.
You've said your on the 1 Vicodin? Here your going to see that the majority will let you know that opiates have the least effect on nerve pain. Most of us are using one of the meds designed specifically for neuropathy as well as other modalities to boost or aid the opiates in providing relief. Lyrica, cymbalta, neurontin, to name a few there's more.
I dont know whose prescribing your Vicodin but I would certainly be in search of a good Neurologist, board certified, if you dont have one and if you do begin the search for the correct PM Dr for you.
I know how difficult find a Lyme literate Dr can be and finding the right PM is not much different, we all have hand picked teams of Ortho /Neuros, PMs, Therapist, and PCPs, along with our RPH that come together to make-up our successful Pain management.
As you move thru this CP journey you'll find it takes them along with yourself to give yourself the best shot at a quality of life you can live with and the lowest pain levels achievable. Always remember when talking about chronic pain, zero 0, will never again be a factor. Too many new to chronic pain dont understand that the best way to describe the difference in acute and chronic is just that, they're never be enough meds, treatment, modalities, to get you to that Zero pain number and keep you there. Once you understand that and lower the bar of expectations your treatment will then become easier and more beneficial.
If you've been battling Lymes or a tick bourne disease you're already in the know about failed treatments and Drs who seem not to care.
Glad your here and look forward to hearing more about your journey.
