I agree with Vickie that, like anything else, it's going to be trial and error. And also as she pointed out, what does not work for one person may work great for another.
I did a series of hypnosis visits many, many years ago, and for something unrelated to CP. One thing he did that I thought was pretty good, was we recorded the sessions, so I could take the tape of our session home for practice.
In essence, in my experience, it amounted to guided imagery, using your imagination to picture your goals firmly in place and how your life would be when that's obtained.
I do not think it can "make" anyone "do" or "feel" anything they don't want to or are not already receptive to. The power of belief in whatever modality you choose is going to be one of the strongest tools in your kit.
