Well d@πn girl !
You have got an awful lot going on, not only physical but 'divorce' too - So sorry you have all this happening.
Please don't be hard on yourself. Give yourself time - it will take as much time as it takes.. your therapists most likely have more experience with this situation, & are a good resource. If you work yourself into a dither over 'what ifs' you are not helping recovery.. been there - done that.
I've had only the CT surgery & since I have fibro also, my personal story is not 'usual' .. I too never expected so much pain from MY surgey but had issues w/ulner nerve afterwards, causing pain & curling of several fingers. Therapy was both extremely helpful & informative. Pain continued for hhmm close to two years but the worst of it subsided after about 8 months.
Again, let me remind you that fibromyalgia probably caused this - I don't know.
That was I think 7 yr ago &, if I could have have gazed in a crystal ball & seen this future, I would not have had it; But perhaps I waited too long .. my dr explained perhaps I waited too long & damage was not reversable after a certain point.
Other medical issues cropped up & workmans comp is very very slow. The 'waiting' was on their end, not my decision. I would be hard pressed to agree to having the surgery on other wrist & my doctor agrees wholeheartedly.
More recently I had another surgery & it too is being followed by a very long period of pain.. going on 2 yr.. because of the scar tissue, arthritis, etc.
Hope others pop on & can provide info from their experiences
Best wishes !!
