HI I am Caren--and I have arthritis and I just got into a pain clinic........
Have any one of you taken Mobic........? I just got it yesterday. I also I have chronic headaches.
I live in AZ and the sunshine helps me,,, 86 degrees this week
ANy advice about treating pain in the body.

Mobic is just one of many NSAIDs, like aspirin. It's an anti-inflammatory. You can look up your medicines on any of the websites like drugs.com to see how they work and side effects to be aware of. Mobic may help your headaches too.

I wish I was in AZ with you. I'm in icy PA.

Have you tried to find a rheumatologist? They treat arthritis, not just pain.

Hi,

I also have arthritis and have tried many nsads, including mobic. I like advil the best as I can take either 1, 2, 3, or 4 200mg. at a time. The others that are once a day, don't seem to have the immediate umph!!!

Hi Caren, welcome to the chronic pain forum. Oh, I would love some your weather right now, I could do with some warm temps.

I was on Mobic for a bit, it did help me but I have crohns disease & NSAIDS are out for me. I was taking Ibuprofen but that has created even more problems in the gut so I am done with any of the NSAIDS. Before I would take a high dose of the OTC NSAIDS like lumiere is taking, get it cleared with your dr.. The thing about high doses like 800mg it can cause not just gi troubles but problems with the kidneys.

I would do as one of the others suggested, get an appt with a good rheumatologist & get his/her opinion on how to handle the arthritis.

Hi Caren, I see your a vet on Healing Well, but you must be new to our CP forum, so may I also say Welcome to our forum! You mentioned that you also have chronic headaches, do you have migraines? or are your headaches something else. The reason I ask, is, I was having really bad chronic headaches in the lower back of my head, they were caused by the arthritis in my vertebra in my neck, in fact the articular joints at C3/4 were completely gone, and they had to fuse them, it helped relieve the headache pain tremendously! I was just wondering if your chronic headaches could be caused by your arthritis???

Anyway I hope that your Pain Management Doctor can help you, and I again I want to welcome you to the CP forum. Arizona is really nice in the winter time, but what about your summers? I have spent some time back in the mid eighties down in Tucson, the winter and spring were fantastic! But luckily I didn't have to spend a summer there, as I have heard they can be brutal when it comes to heat. LOL

HI White beard- yes some of the headaches are from my neck in the back.........I will be having a MRI on my neck ..............

Hello Caren!

I have been taking mobic for a while now, and saw results very quickly after starting it. It's just one of many meds that I take to help control my pain.
