Politicians are being told that tighter regs will not prevent anyone who is really in pain from getting the pain meds they need. They are also being told that the tighter regs will only affect those who abuse these meds. For some reason(s) the voices of chronic pain patients hasn't been many let alone loud. Once a bill/law has been passed, the chances of it being changed are slim to nill in things like this.

Personally, I have no doubts that the medical community will become more and more hesitant to prescribe the meds needed for those who suffer from chronic pain. And I'm willing to bet that after hydrocodone combinations meds go to a Schedule II later on this year, there will be a lot of threads from patients wanting to do something about it, but it will be too late. I can't remember any med that was a Schedule II or moved to a Schedule II that was changed to a Schedule III. This is just an example, but I'm sure those here know what I'm talking about.

I appied for SSDI in Feb 2013. I was rejected in June 2013. I hired an attorney for the appeal the next day. It has taken alost 1 year in Texas for me to finally get my hearing which is May 7th in Dallas. I have met with my congressmen and my Sentaor to see if they would help in speeding up the process for me. They said that Dallas area has the fewest judges so it take on the average of 311 days. Dallas has the longest wait period of all states to get a hearing. My attorney assured me that I will get it becasue of all the issues I have. Has anyone else waited so long for theirs?

i to was denied the first-time i applied. i also retained an attorney and after a two year wait was accepted. couple things that influenced being accepted was 1) my injury and surgeries. 2) my age
and 3) my education. (just high school grad)
