hello everyone. well the day is almost here. thursday to be exact when i go under the knife yet again.
incase you haven't heard, back in november of last year i had a pain pump inplanted and the darn thing
never worked. surgery is thursday and it was scheduled back in early February. so i am glad that the
day has finally come. last week i had the calls from the hospital. so to me it sounds like a good thing.
one more call wednesday to let me know what time to be there. wish me luck.... yeah

First, thanks for responding to my other post. Always appreciated.

Now, more importantly, I wish you the best with your surgery on Thursday!! Hopefully it will provide you with the pain relief you need and deserve!!

hey andy. thank you for the well wishes. this will be surgery number 6 related to my back.
been pretty frustrated with the whole ordeal. but i'm still positive that things will work out.
i've always looked at the glass as being half full.

i wanted to mention on your post that my fusion failed.(first one) my new surgeon was doing
a second fusion and when he opened me up he said that all the hardware and rods were just bouncing around in my lower back followed by "no wonder you were in so much pain"
anyway still having alot of pain after the second fusion, we decided that a pain pump might
be in order.
so in nov. 2013 i got a pain pump. after about 3 unsucessful adjustments and no relief an x-ray
takin with some dye determined that the cath. was plugged up so i was no getting any medicine.
so here i am, round number two with the pump.
wow, guessi needed to rant also....

well again i wish you the best of luck with your back issues and hope you can find relief...

I've been following along with your journey, and I can honestly appreciate that you've truly been to Hades and back with all that you've gone through.

I'm hoping everything goes brilliantly for you on Thursday. Sending prayers your way!

What a mess!! So very sorry your efforts to control pain were not only unsuccessful but caused even MORE pain.
The thought of loose hardware rattling around near your spine - wow! I'ld br ranting too.. hope you feel better for doing so.

Best wishes for pain relief / reduction real soon.

hello everyone and thank you all for the well wishes. yeaaa, almost time. i guess i'm as ready as i'll ever be. got some good news from one of the nurses phone calls. she said i could have coffee up to two
hours before my arrival time. as good as that sounds i think i'm gonna pass. they say nothing after
midnight for a reason. well everyone have a good night and a pleasant tomorrow.
i'll keep ya updated. thanks again.
