Saw my doctor 2 weeks ago. He ordered for 2 types of injections ASAP to help my pain and told me to take 5 up to 7 dialaded per day if needed until the pain goes down.

My injections always help some. Was a little upset, my insurance changed the approval process and my PT had to be completed before the shot. Well PT was done before my appointment 2 weeks ago. The office of my surgeon misplaced my records from the PT. So I finally called today to find out what was going on and give a status update to my doctor. They then informed me of all of this, I was like why did you not call me. Well I was then told at least 3 weeks. I called the care team told them what the injection nurse said and told them of main. I got a call at 4pm and they are getting me in at 1145am tomorrow thank god. I will be put of meds on Saturday but I am going to tough out or try to until Tuesday. I decided I do not want to call asking for refill so soon, and I have to realize the pain might always be there so get used to it.

Hopefully the shot works. I need to go in on Friday because I cannot see the surgeon because he is in surgery. My incision opened up 1.5 weeks ago and a bunch of internal sutures came out. I think it is infected as it is super red and painful. I will show the pain doctor doing the shot to. I have had staph 3 times since surgery, I think a stronger antibiotic to kick this.

I am so happy I can get in tomorrow for my injections though.

SyXx if you think your incision is infected you need to have that looked at ASAP! Especially since you have had staph before. Infections like that can get more serious, and if it gets into your blood and in your circulatory system, it can be systemic and then you will be in real trouble! So don't take it lightly or let it go! Better to be safe than sorry and catch it early! Sounds like you have had a rough go of it, I wish you well!

Yeah I might see if I can get in tomorrow. I have been keeping it clean just seems like it festers with these dang internal sutures.

Sean please have them look at the incision prior to the injections,opening another portal by invasive procedure if you do have staph could open yourself up to a spinal infection in the area of the injection site as well.

Otherwise I sure hope you get relief.

My pain docs won't do injections if I have any sort of infection, or injury, or am taking NSAIDs.

No infection. He said its just in a spot where if I lift my arm the skin the skin stretch and is keeping it open. Just keep it clean.

I had 2 injections. One in the back and the other in the joint where the rib connects. Hopefully I get relief.

When I got my injection yesterday I told my nurse I was going to try to ride it out for weekend without pain meds and see how it went because I was up for a refill. My doctors nurse called me and said the injection nurse notes it for my doc, he said absolutely not and wanted me to have the meds for weekend because he is not on call. So I had to go and pick up a refill. So I will not have nothing on hand, he also started my regimen of strength physical therapy.

Hopefully between the injections and some PT I will get even more relief.

Might be painful and a long recovery time, but I still would do this surgery again because the wrapping chest pain is gone.

So glad your recovery is progressing so nicely Sean. Hoping you continue to get relief as the days and treatments pass.

Dont be brave and use the meds,give your body the best chance at healing and rushing recovery is the most common cause of failed procedures.

I will use my pain meds but going to try to cut back a tablet per day to start. Last night I had a hard time sleeping, but mot from pain. The ribs and back actually felt pretty good. Woke up was taking it easy but just from moving arms etc. Now my ribs are irritated.

Good enough to take my daughter out for lunch date with dad.
