I am afraid to go to bed

I'm not sure it's necessarily "bad thinking" on your part.

It would seem you are in a great deal of distress and it would be perfectly normal to feel anxious about the pain.

The only answer I can sincerely think of is getting to the root of what's causing you this pain....you would need to continue to see doctors of various disciplines. Internal medicine, if you haven't already. And as we've suggested in previous posts, an Infectious Disease Specialist.

Have you done any of the things that's been suggested to you?

Just a quickie note: If you're wanting to find out if a "pinched nerve" may be contributing to your distress, you may fare quite a bit better seeking the advice of a neurologist.

Your internal medicine doctor may recommend such tests as abdominal ultrasound, upper and lower GI contrast studies,...and it sounds like you are doing well in terms of continuing to reach out to various medical doctors to rule out the cause of this.

I still would ask if you'd consider consulting with an Infectious Disease Specialist. I did not see that on your list, but it's been suggested by a few members,-- given you feel you may have contracted something after eating at a restaurant, getting checked for parasites would be something worth looking into along with the other types of doctors you listed.

We cannot always request certain tests be done,...but we can politely inquire what tests the doctor feels should be performed, in their medical opinion....they may have more ideas, different ideas, and it may help you get to the bottom of this quicker.

Has your doctor done a urine and stool culture?

PS: You said that you're afraid to go to bed out of fear of waking up in pain? Does that mean the pain has gone away then? And you only get it in the morning?

Is there anything that helps you relax before you go to bed? Reading, watching a movie?

I fall asleep in my chair every night then wake up and trot off to bed, I too dread going to bed for various reasons so that's why I think I wait.

It has to be extremely frustrating not actually knowing where your pain is coming from which adds to stress but I'm pleased you are going to see 2 doctors soon, I hope you get some answers.

I know it's so hard when you are in pain, try to get some rest though or it's all so much worse, take care.

Merrida: yes, my doctor made me an urine and stool culture, everything negative.
In the night, after dinner I experiment a little relief of my pain (thanks God, this is the only moment of the day that I have life). But in the morning the pain begin again and last all the day. Spacmoctyl doesn´t relieve anything, neither tylenol, ibuprofen, buscapine or nolotil.
It is difficult to find in Spain a Infectious Disease Specialist, but I am looking for.
