Okay, so sum it all up as best I can, Car accident in 2013 (November) Rear ended in 45 mph zone. Knee hit dash board, neck started hurting on way to ER. Er did a fast CT nothing...Pain kept getting worse in neck, finally pm doc did nerve testing, then pain doctor orders up mri (without contrast), two hemangomas(forgive spelling) appeared, one was classified typical the other was classified ATypical. So I go to my appointment in February 2014 and they tell me we want to get these checked out further as it might be cancer and that they'd set me up with the best neruosurgeon and a bone scan.
A week after this appointment nothing, So I called the doctor's office and the run around begins...Hospital called the next day to schedule me for the bone scan. So I go to the Hospital at what I thought was the correct day and they did not get insurance approval, nothing so they lead me on for 2 hours, took a 497.21 payment and after the payment told me they could not get me in, so image how mad I'm at that point.
Took 2 certified letters to finally get my money back.
Went to pm and did not pay for this follow up as they had screwed up the paperwork for the insurance for the bone scan as they had ordered it for Lumbago, (never had a dx for that). So they told me they'd get it fixed, never did so I took things in my own hands.
Called the neurosurgeon and met him, very nice doctor best in this area, he got the bone scan ordered up and x-rays.
Good news: *No Cancer! great finally relieved by that*, but My cervical neck is straight no curves (also, Arthritic changes), your supposed to have a curve not me, so they told me ALL my spasms are directly related to my neck, that they could go in and do surgery which would mean: hardware with all the bells and whistles and I said "no".
I said no because 1. I have a tendency to have complications, 2. the asthma would make it hard if not difficult to lay flat on my back and 3. I do not want hardware in me yet. Even he was afraid of my rate of complications, so even he had to say it might not be worth it because of that. he did bring up injections and I told him about the last injections I had which left me with a stiff and frozen neck for 3 months of which he'd never heard of happening to anyone. So I'm back to pain management.
PM did give me a sample of a patch to try and I will try it tonight, it's called Flector. So, I've had a very rough ride of things these past two months...and I also had to get off of methotrexate due to nausea and my RA doctor whom is the tops in my area is literally stuck with what he should do to treat me.
Ra doctor did give me a steroid injection in the rear which is helping. RA doctor did say I could seek out a second opinion, but with who, he's the best.
The taxman is on us as well as we filed ours correctly, but our daughter did not so we have to see about calling them, I'm not going to pay them they owe us, we had to pay for her last semester of University...We are going to fight this.
Our medical reimbursement was used up in April. So any injections or whatever will have to wait until next year. That's my story and I'm sticking to it, hopefully things will get better...
Other good news is my daughter is finally going for her certification testing to be a teacher, so please send good wishes to her, she'd be a great teacher. So Yeah!
