Compounded drugs?

Has anyone tried compounded drugs for pain? For neuropathy?

I have tried one that I applied directly to my knee.

It came in a cream that I applied directly.It was effevtive.

My insurance didn't cover it and it was too expensive to consider getting it filled I was given a sample.

I know a Pharmacist that makes these.He says some he makes contain Morphine or Hydrocodone but in such low amouunts that they aren't Scheduled but you still need a prescription of course.

It worked but I wouldn't want to rely only on a compound.

Yes, I have.

First as replacement for clonidine patches that I had skin breakdown from, the clonidine was made, compounded, by a pharmacist and allowed me to use something that was very helpful.

Currently I use a cream that's compounded for me containing 10 different active ingredients. Along with all of my oral meds, I use it to help me from increasing mg.'s, anything that can help me keep drugs from passing through my organs is helpful.

I have always had to pay out of pocket though.
