Hello, my name is Sage, I joined here to seek help from others that have gone through SI joint, hip, and lower back, and knee pain. How did your pain come to be? And how did you overcome wanting to feel healthy and normal again?? I am twenty years old, and have become very depressed and hopeless feeling since my car and snowboarding accidents.
Last July the interstate auto collision occurred. The retirement bus didn't check his blind spot when he tried changing lanes into my car. All the impact went straight to my knee, in known as dash boarding. That was the beginning of my chronic pain. On March 10th, earlier this year on my birthday, I was struck by an out of control snowboarder while on my snowboard looking forward. I have a small 5''5 110 pound frame. The weight of a full grown man, his heavy board, and the momentum was completely stopped by my SI joint. At the time I thought the impact was to my hip. I should have went to the hospital that day but even though it was the most excruciating pain I have ever felt in my life, I decided to wait a month to even see a chiropractor.
After months of being in chronic pain I went to an orthopedic surgeon with my hip and knee X- rays. He told me there was nothing to do for my knee, except take prescript
ions drugs for the rest of my life which is devastating. He also informed me that my hip looked fine on the x-ray and that the pain I described in my low back and hip were being caused by my SI joint. I spent months ignoring my real problem and in the end I am stuck with a life changing accident that wasn't even my fault.
Now I am seeing an osteopathic manipulative medicine doctor. The damage caused my SI joint to move 1 cm which also caused my hip to move 1 cm. I feel off balance and broken all the time. I am so young and now I can not do anything physical that I loved doing. Thank you for anyone that has read this and anyone that responds. I feel like hearing other peoples stories will really help a lot!
