Hey BTL...Your story sounds too familiar. Indeed, an internist who will put the pieces of the puzzle together...
If only. The cyst on your kidney can very well be endometriosis. It can rear its UGLY HEAD in places that people don't realize. I understand the futility of finding specialists (you need one, sweetie) that will take you seriously. I saw 8 (or 9) specialists in the Fall of 2013, trying to get answers for 20+ years of pain post-op. ALL rejected my theories of residual disease and recommended PM vs. surgery to investigate and/or remove lesions/adhesions.
I feel your pain. There are endo centers in Atlanta and California, but be forewarned...They are out of reach without great insurance. Have you researched endocrinologists within your driving radius? That might be worth looking into. Don't give up and don't back down. I know how exhausting it is to get a definitive diagnosis. I can only share my experience, which I will...if you like.
Hugs...Dixie
