We have lots of new folks that are here & more often than not, neither myself or Vickie can ever remember to tell this in our welcoming posts to new members. The rules are few & very simple. In addition the owner has guidelines listed which hold same as the rules.
Recently some of us mods were made aware of what it costs roughly a month to keep Healing Well up & running & free to its members. We were both surprised. Granted donations are accepted but not expected because the owner is very much aware there are a lot of folks here unable to work & have no income or not enough of an income to exist on. This is why he lets businesses advertise here at Healing Well to help foot some of the expense. Even with advertising it is not enough to cover it all.
Some other ways to help cut cost is by keeping our posts as brief as possible. Most people are not aware the cost to post is per letter, not per word or post. And please keep in mind your topics should be about
whatever forum you are in. If everyone will keep this in mind it does help keep this site free to its members.
Thanks the mods.

Just want to add a few things here to what Susie said. Those adds pay everytime they're clicked on, some are interesting so everyone here click when you have a few minutes and help keep the forum as financially self supporting. The donation links at the top of the page and it doesn't have to be a lot but every dollar counts and new updates we have put on the Christmas wish list like a instant messenger cost money so maybe if we click more often it can happen.
I've noticed a great deal of conversation taking place on a few threads and this is costly and adds pages to threads that will eventually be archived and again comes with a price. For those who don't know we have a slew of chat rooms that no one makes use of anymore and it is the perfect place for those conversations. It's easy to access, requires nothing more than your username and 2 ppl can meet in there or 10 and since it is real time it's much easier to talk.
Please give your post a related heading as these are used by the search engines like Google and Chrome.
If you have not read the 101 sticky thread at the top of the page please take a moment to do so, very informative thread.
If you are in search and you see something older you wish to ask about
please do not reply to the thread and bring it forward, we do lock those over 6 months to a yr old because many of the members may no longer be here.
If you want to know if a member is current simply click on the name and it will tell you the last time they logged on and show you the last 10 post. You also can see here if they have a email addy listed and we suggest making one through healing well server and not using your own.
That's it and I know it seems like a lot but our goals to keep HW what its always been.

THANK YOU Susie and Vickie...Much to think about
, as I had no real clue of the cost per letter. I'm afraid I may have single-handedly sunk this wonderful site with MY POSTS. Should I delete my ramblings or is it too late? I talk too much. I type too much. I post too much. I must refrain. I'll try to learn more about
email contacts and the chats would be great just to check in, say "hi" and compare the "fun" in our dysfunction.
Thanks for the heads up. I wouldn't want to lose my privileges here!

Deleting them has no affect whatsoever. The chat rooms are available 24/7 & you can set up an email in your profile as well. Also, we do have to stop threads at 3 pages in number because the server just gets overloaded.

Dixie the chats are perfect especially if you want to talk about
something with someone you don't want archived for the world to see for decades. Once everyone leaves and logs out of chat the conversation leaves as well. Its monitored by mods as well but not really, most don't ever go in. When they do it will be a peek just to make sure nothing hinky is going on but we don't watch your chats! !
I check at night once and not seen anyone in there all seek but know some of the PC guys go there sometimes.
Like I said it's real time and what you say is onscreen immediately, you don't have to type and post or email and wait.
