Hey Alcie...Just want to provide some encouragement=) You say that the radiologist report indicates "minimal" pain. Those issues, though not warranting surgical intervention, can cause moderate to severe pain. I understand your frustration. At least the neuro TOLD me flat out that even though I had issues that needed to be "fixed", the surgery whether cervical or lumbar, would be short-lived, and most likely "fail" long term. It was hard to hear, but I'd rather he were honest with me up front, than several failed surgeries down the road.
If your PM is not addressing your pain to a point of 50% relief, maybe it's time to find another? As we know, complete relief is a pipe dream. If we can get partial pain relief through meds, they allow us to grind through with other modalities that provide some quality of life. I've been in PM since January, but have yet to find the right med protocol for my "awkward" metabolism. I can't give up now. I don't want you to, either...Keep plugging til you get it right!
I'm glad your procedure went well. Just take it easy, because my "stroke like" brain pain started the next day. That was 30 years ago, though. The procedure itself wasn't the problem. It was the pain from lifting my head to an upright position for a 2 hour ride home. My mom thought I was truly having a stroke. I digress.
Hugs~~Dixie
