Yup, they were sure having their fun last night...
Nervous week for me - I finally have my appointment with my surgeon on Thursday to find out when I can get my pump replaced. Saw my PM last week and he's said that really I've got to get it done in the next 2-3 weeks, month at the absolute outside to be safe, so I'm hoping he's let the surgeon know that as well.
Problem is that this guy only tends to do his pumps at a small hospital where I've been quite a few times before, and had major issues with a couple of the nurses there the last twice. Time before last I made a formal complaint against one of them, which didn't really go anywhere because it came down to her word against mine - she'd left me in a room unattended, without checking on me & with no way for me to call for help after I had some major anxiety/panic issues on ketamine - then treated me like a child, refused me my charted pain meds and refused all my requests for her to contact my PM when I finally gave up and near-crawled back to my bed.
PM convinced me to give ket one more shot after that - hospital promised this nurse would not be allowed any contact with me - and she flushed my IV effectively giving me more than an hour's worth of my infusion in about 10 seconds. All I remember from that point on is seeing stars and my body seizing up - and apparently I spent the next 48 hours in a dystonic storm worthy of something from the Exorcist. Still have no memory of the entire week, and ongoing memory/concentration issues, so I'm scared of going back in case she's still working there. Hoping I can convince him to do the op elsewhere, as he does some of his other surgery at other hospitals, and I do have my PM's support because he saw what I went through, but any positive vibes would be appreciated!
Hope you all have as good a week as possible.
