Hi everyone!

I kind of new here (it's my second time posting here I think...)

I don't know what to do anymore and how to deal with the pain.
I am in pain every day, it could be any part of my body that hurts. In the past month I have managed to damage my shoulder (didn't sit properly at work, that's totaly on me sad )
And in addition, my lower back has not been okay in the past two weeks.
Which is the worst thing that could happen to me, because I dance at my free time, and now I can't dance. I bet it sounds ridiculous but it's a big deal for me.
And bisedes that, my back hurts all the time!

I also have muscle pain and have been hurting for so many yaers, I can't take this any more.

Whay do you guys do for the pain?

Hi Sj and do you have a diagnosis for what's causing your back pain? Have you had any testing such as MRIs or CT? There's not just one magic thing that any of us do that works for one and all, oh what we wouldn't give for that. Rather each of us use a combination of things to achieve the best possible pain relief we can. Some of the more common things you might try are heat/ice, hydrotherapy, creams, Tens, yoga,diversion. It takes more then a few for most and trial and error to get the right combination.

Good Dr's are our first defense!

I don't have any diagnosis for the back pain. Or for the shoulder.
The last doctor I went to (a neurologist) told me that I have Myalgia. which means muscle pain....
Basically, it's just giving a better name to make it sound more serious and medical to what I have and nothing more.
We did conclude, he and I, that if I go to the right rheumotologist, I will probably be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.
Hahahaha, I'm sorry, that really makes me laugh! I think it's funny smilewinkgrin
It's ridiculous.

I don't want to go to an orth - because he won't be able to help me, I refuse to take medications (they stopped helping me a few years ago) and I am already searching for a private physicaltherapist.

Ohh, I guess I'll just have to keep on what I'm doing - exercising and all.
I need to get rid of this back pain cry cry

My doctor (gp) said i had fybro 'probably' sent me to a rhumy and she said nope its hyper mobility syndrome ( took under 5 mins of bend this way that way and how dose it hurt questions), i have a thoracic disc that pops and muscle pain everyday along with my other aliments it looked like fibro but wasn't. I understand the pain side of it tho i have heat pads which help alot with my hms and migraines, mind how you exercise.. sometimes certain types make you worse even tho at the time it feels good ( experience playing hockey and loving the gym both made me feel good for a week then knocked me sideways afterwards). Id say try a very hot heat pad on the sore area of you back to see if it helps out perhaps some emugel stuff with the anti inflammatory in those seem to work well for me.

I think I'm starting to sound like a broken record, LOL - but, I suggest medical marijuana if you can gain access legally. Much less dangerous and also more helpful than narcotic meds - in my experience.

There were over 15,000 overdose deaths last year from opiates. Zero from medical marijuana. There is no known lethal dose. You also do not develop a tolerance to it like you do to opiate meds. The amount you need to relieve your pain now will be the same (usually - and depending on the strength of the MM you are using) as it is five years from now.

It is a great muscle relaxant.

There is a hemp cream you can get that I put on my sore back and it works SO well. It's called Hemp Eaze. It's available online, not a controlled substance b/c it's just hemp and not marijuana. It stinks kind of, but it has helped me out so much for my lower back.

You should also try a TENS unit.

But, if you refuse to go to an ortho, it's going to take a lot longer to heal. Find a different one if you didn't like the one you saw originally. You may just need a few rounds of PT.
