My dad was in the ER today with a high blood pressure over 200, in the ER for a few hours until medicine got it under control, he home now, but could probably use a few prayers...Don't know if I'll be able to get up to him Airfare is expensive. I'm in Texas and he's up in Michigan, so this is hard being so far away...
My mom was told it was a heart attack, but then why would the hospital release him?
Anyways we can use some prayers, it's been one heck of a year for me and them...

Many thoughts and prayers to you Dad and Mom to as I'm sure she's worried as well.

OT but does Allegiant air fly from Texas? If you look at their calendar and the ticket cost on certain days it's awesome! I can fly from Orlando to Lexington KY for $56 one way at least 6 different days a month, other days vary like $86 and that's the highest I have seen except close to holidays.

Hey Chart, so sorry to read what is going on with your dad. Is the BP a long standing problem or something new? If its something he has had for awhile I wonder what caused it to go up like that. Did your mom offer any other info along those lines? I am like you, if he had a heart attack why wasn't he kept over night at least for observation, doesn't sound quite right.

We will keep your dad in our prayers. By the way, now that Southwest is flying all over have you checked with them for airfare? I don't know if they fly to Michigan but thought I would throw that out there to you. Let us know what you hear on how he is doing.

So sorry, Chartreaux, for your father's illness.  I know how frightening that can be for loved ones.  If you can't get a flight there (we understand) perhaps you can Skype or talk frequently.  I know your mom needs support too, through such a frightening experience.  I will keep your family in my heart and prayers.

Thank you for the Prayers don't know anything yet, my mom is waiting for the nurse to come over to help with the doctor's appointment, so still unsure about everything. I called my brother who helped them yesterday and all they were told is high blood pressure, no other answers. They need a good Heart Hospital in their town.
Please keep the prayers coming. My dad did have a stroke a few of years ago, but they said it was probably related to his diabetes... My mom is breaking down as well, so really can't find out anything through her, they should both be in Alma Michigan at the Shriners Home, but Dad is stubborn and the Shriners home is isolated...

Still no answers on the high blood pressure and his doctor ordered up x-rays...I wonder if the compression socks are causing it, the nurse placed them around his leg and his pressure was up after the socks went on...
Hope to know more on Monday, really hate the wait and see game...
Just need prayers, please... We are also trying to get things organized for our daughter's wedding next year the dress has been ordered just got the veil which is very lovely and has nice scalloped edges...Also the reason I can't get an airplane ticket, goodness even with just the bare nessesities Weddings are expensive...and I don't have a Mother of the Bride dress yet!

Hey Chart...Keeping your family in my heart and prayers.  It's good you have the wedding to distract you from the "wait and see" anxiety.  How old is your dad?  mom?  Did you say that they need to move to assisted living?  It may become their only option, with health failing.  I know it's hard, sweetie.

Mom and Dad are both 80, just one month apart on Birthdays. Yes they should be with assisted living but there is nothing and I mean nothing around the assisted living place, it's very isolated and my brothers wouldn't be able to get to them in emergencies...I'll call them tomorrow to check up on them.
