I was just curious about whether anyone on this forum has done Prolotherapy/PRP before and if so, did it help at all with the pain? What was your experience with either procedure?

I don't believe anyone here has done prolotherapy. I think a while back one of members had one treatment & stopped because it was so painful. From what I have read from previous posts anyone that is interested in this type of treatment needs to verify with their insurance company that they will pay for the treatment. It is controversial medical care & some insurance companies will not pay for it. It is also very expensive. My advice is do your homework as it appears to not be a very popular or successful type of treatment.

Yes, I had it done, stopped after the first treatment and almost ended up in the ER.

Your insurance won't pay for it as it is experimental, so that's around $500.00 USD out of pocket.

I believe its a big sham or con of a procedure, I also never went back to that doctor, it was that bad.

Don't get it done, its not worth it, stick to treatments that are covered by insurance or look into accupunction treatments as an alternative, chinese medicine has more proven results than prolotherapy...
