Check in after Myelogram

Well the Myelogram itself wasn't horrible. I was not sedated at all. The epidural injection was tough but the dye going in was horrible I felt like my hips was going to split apart. The radiologist said that's a sign of a herniation. I haven't heard from my PM yet with results. I woke up at 2 in extreme pain with no relief from meds. The headache is intense but manageable. But the hip pain is a huge struggle right now. I just pray they can get me fixed.

Whatx2 I'm really struggling. I can't get relief. I don't know if this is normal but it's killing me to stand or anything. My pain meds aren't touch it at all. This is horrible.

You should call your doc or the place that did the procedure. They'll probably just tell you to rest (because THEY aren't the ones in pain), but it's worth a shot. ((HUGS))

I called and they said as long as the headache is manageable to just lay flat. Ugh. Hard to lay flat😖

When you have a myelogram, you are supposed to lay flat for the first couple of hours until they release you, then go home and have your head raised no higher than two pillows high, except for the bathroom visits for the first 24 hours post myelogram and drink lots of regular, caffeinated beverages, regular soda, coffee, tea.

Hey PM...I'm guessing the upright position is causing the headaches, just as previously stated.  Sweetie, I'm sorry for your suffering.  I had stroke-like brain pain following myelogram in the early 80's.  I was told basically to beware of this, as MS stated.

I hope that by now you're feeling somewhat better.

glad your headache got better, last year I needed two blood patches after a spinal tap. Doctor thought I had MS...will never get another spinal tap ever...not worth it...Many well wishes...
