Well my back pain is still horrible, however not as horrible as the day after the Myelogram. My headache has pretty much went away. I still have the pressure feeling when standing but thankfully did not need a blood patch as I have had 4 needles in my spine the last 2 weeks (steroids in 3 different area the a week Monday) A friend drove me to the PM doctor Wednesday. After looking at my CT he said nothing was gonna fix my back except surgery. After much discussion with him as he will be doing the after treatment once the neurosurgeon releases me it was decided that to do a fusion instead of a microdiscectomy would be best for me. I have ruptured 4 times over the last 6 years and can't continue to rupture ever year or 2. It's too painful! I know the surgery and recovery will be a bit worse but we are praying the outcome is much better. I always rupture at my L4-L5 and particularly I'm sick of hurting! I decided not to tell my neurosurgeon about the discussion I had with my PM doctor so it would be more like a 2nd opinion. So after consulting with the neurosurgeon (who previously done all my back surgeries) and him looking over my CT he also came back with the same recommendation. So that is where we are. I'm now waiting on a surgery date to get this done and start recovering. I pray this is the answer to my pain. It's just tough waiting when your in pain! Oh and good news is he won't have to take out my neurostimulator that I had implanted in May!! It was $80,000 before ins so I was praying it wouldn't have to be removed. I will keep everyone posted on my progress! Thanks everyone!!
