Still struggling to get diagnosis for my post surgical pain

So its almost getting to like 9 months since my right lap kidney surgery and since the start of this pain on my right abdomen almost near the side, flank area close to where the surgeons went in to do the surgery. The pain is almost like dull aching type, constant 24/7, I cant tolerate this discomfort, feeling, without the number of pills Im taking, which help me make drowsy and sleepy so I cant care much anymore.

My recent ct scan one month ago came with: There is pelviectasis noted at the bilateral kidneys slightly more pronounced on the left. Mild right sided hydroureter is noted.

After my ct, I had mri a week later, for which they taped a couple of small marbles on the pain area because it will show on computer for them to see.
There is mild bilateral pelvic caliectasis.
At the site of pain along the right anterolateral abdominal wall, the small area of high T2 signal within the anterior abdominal wall musculature (image 30, series5). There is nonspecific enhancement postcontrast.
Summary:No definite underlying abnormality to account for patient's pain.
Nonspecific T2 signal abnormality and enhancement in the right anterolateral abdominal wall musculature, likely postsurgical.

I showed it to my family doctor who said its negative. I dont feel pelvic caliectasis( about kidneys) is causing this because my kidney pain used to feel in the back, this is at front and only surgery related. I mentioned toy family doctor about mri finding contrast enhancment because there is something abnormal there thats why more contrast but she dismissed it saying its because in that area I had surgery and this finding is because I have scar there but then as I have been saying before my pain is from surgery so it could well be because of scar or because of something abnormal there ( that's what I read how mri scans distinguish between normal and abnormal areas is from contrast enhancment)

Im also wondering if someone can give their opinion on my ct or mri results. Im going to see a urologist next week and pain doctor in january affiliated with hospital who can maybe see if I qualify for a more advanced block. So should I explore surgery option maybe from this urologist who is willing to work with me to just ask him to see what is in that area or should I wait a bit till next month and see if pain doctors can do a block from spine if that is safer or what? Please help Im still lost as to why nothing definite for this pain that I have a hard time living with.

I had bad pain from a trapped nerve after one of my abdominal surgeries. The spasms were incredible! I couldn't get any doctor to do anything about it, but it eventually went away.

So sorry to read that you are still struggling with the pain. If this were me I would be leaning towards waiting to see what the pain mgt dr can offer. I know a laproscopic surgery can be done to look around, but that is still surgery regardless. I would reserve that as a last resort option. I am assuming your insurance will cover pay for exploratory surgery, a lot of insurance company's will not pay for that kind of surgery here in the states.

From reading what you wrote about the MRI, I don't see anything that jumps right out. I would take the cd or actual films to the pain mgt & let him review it for his opinion. You have a tough decision to make no doubt. Good luck.
