Medication induced neuropathy

Welcome PP to the CP forum and sorry to hear about your issues. Most of us here have some type of neuropathy or another since injuries,surgeries,degeneration and yes even meds can cause those problems.

We always advise when talking about nerve meds to not lose hope since each of us react vastly different with the various meds. What works for you may make things worse or no better for me,that's simply the nature of the meds.

I tried neurontin with more side effects than pain,yet Lyrica was my salvation? Some folks will go through all the new designed neuropathy meds and end up with a off label old generation drug like topomax or elavil and do great.

I have never been a fan of effexor personally,haven't taken it but since it contributing to some untoward effects in ppl.

You can still try lyrica,cymbalta, in this class and several older anxiety meds that have shown promise and results.

It's hit and miss with them and it takes time as well for each of them to reach therapeutic levels to accomplish relief of symptoms so patience is a must!! Lol

I take a combo of Neurontin and Tramadol for my neuropathy. How much Neurontin are you taking? You might need to talk to your doctor about titrating up some more until your symptoms are relieved. If you are at the upper limits of Neurontin dosage then you might have to try something else like Lyrica.
