g'day everyone. i hope you are managing ok. was just wondering if anyone feels there pain more at night? maybe it is a less focus thing during the day but the shoulders really cane at night. and neck. got this subluaxation thing and arthritis. slipped disk as well- but is much better. i use a cane for walking my arms are strong-warehousing days. could lift 80kg boxes like they were a bag of lollies. doc says massage would do it more damage. i do stretching. helps a little. just thought i would share. many healing thoughts.

Hey Turtle.My pain is probably worse right when I wake up.That could be what wakes me.

Get up,make bed and make coffee,

Usually by then my back has tightened up.

Then I have to take something for pain

It's a cycle.A vicious cycle.

I seem to feel worse at night even if it's just a head cold like I have right now and certainly with bigger issues, too. I thought it was because I had used up all my energy and just didn't have any more to fight the pain. IF sleep comes, then I get restored. But there is always that confounded sleep apnea mask to deal with so sleep is not as much of a release as it used to be.
Although it might be getting some better. How about you?

I have had many a night where the pain will be at it's worst. I sometimes attributed it to payback for everything that I have done during the day. But I can remember time having colds/flu that the symptoms always peaked during the night, especially a temperature.

Hoping you are feeling better and hanging in there. Sounds like you got arms of steel man, that's a good attribute in itself.

Good evening, Turtle. I hope things are going well for you.

Everything is worse for me in the afternoon and then....the sunsets and it gets dark....and the pain gets worse. But, much like Abilene mentioned, even silly colds are worse for me once that sun goes down. Seems the pain just gets more intense in the evening no matter how I've spent my day.

And it would seem the medications I'm on last for shorter and shorter periods of time. I have a history of medications losing their effectiveness. So it's probably something I need to alert my physician to, though I don't relish yet another change in medications. I'm on the highest dose they can give me on this medication. *sigh* I really dislike this merry-go-'round.

Here's hoping you've had an awesome day. We were in the mid 40's and it felt heavenly!!

cheers guys. my memory sux, but here goes. the alien and i are not the best of friends. been doing ok with it, but too much anxiety, chucked it off, came here and skyped a mate. i did go back, but i did not wear the alien though.

yeah i am very susceptible to colds and stuff. suppressed immunity. i do the the flu jab each year. one of you guys said abiliene, that sleep is not as restorative as it use to be. i get that. and pam, yeah, i hear ya about your day catching up with ya at night.

melagain. i hear you about the efficacy of medications. been on the merry-go-round long enough too. maybe i will go cryogenic and come back when all is sorted with illness and madness of this world. many healing thoughts to you all.

I hope tonight is better for you and that you might be able to catch some air with your alien, if not - stun him, store him in port and just relax! lol (that's some sayings from Star Trek, which I'm watching right now, yes I am a fan!)

How is your fiance'? Those ear conditions can sure make you miserable. Did she get any relief with the doctors?

she is as stubborn as a mule. at least the mule will kick ya, move or something!! i just gave her a few rings. at 5.45am!! another ring in a minute. she loves her bed. more than life, and me. her nick name from me is sleepy head. she is going to the doc today. no appts. so she has to be there at 8am. breakfast is an hour, getting dressed-does the does my bum look good with these shoes thing. re-change-check side mirror with the head turn, check butt,check top sitting good on but etc. will get back to ya. did very well with the alien last night, thanks.

There's really a clinical explanation for why we do worse at night,I say clinical yet its just a simple thing we give no thought to. As the day wears on and our bodies relax and tire getting ready to rest every function slows to a crawl. Every system shifts down into low gear even your always working brains hopefully for some of that good ole restorative sleep! The drawbacks? Allows pain to slip in while all your natural endorphins are taking a break,muscles relax,immune system slows to a slugs pace cells regenerating and germs jump at their ineffectiveness giving way to temperatures rising to combat them. So while your body is getting ready to fight another day all the bad takes advantage of its weakness in a resting state.

Hey Turtle,

Always worse at night here too... Even with chronic insomnia, even when I was programmed to doing night rosters at uni, or doing something all night that takes my attention, the pain is worse.
