I use 25 Fentanyl patch every three days for my back pain. I just recently cleaned out a closet and re injured my back. I had back surgery in 2008. For the most part the extreme pain is gone but I have the everyday pain from overexzertion. My question is: Is Baclofen safe to take with a RNY gastric bypass?

Sorry, but I don't know. No doctors here, just patients.

If i had this question I'd call a doctor. A gastroenterologist might know best. I googled but didn't find any scientific studies.

I didn't tolerate Baclofen. It just put me to sleep at 1/2 lowest dose, even after trying for a month.

Hey D and WELCOME=)  I too had GB surgery in 1987.  People ask...YES, I lost the weight.  YES, I've kept it off.  I've not had a day of wellness since...bummer.

I don't know about Baclofen, as I've never used it.  There are several here who have.  They'll be along shortly.  Do you have issues w/metabolism of meds?  I DO.  The Fent patch (matrix type) did not work for me.  I'm happy it works for you.

Give your doctor a call to ask about adding a muscle relaxer.
