Dental Injury to the Alvelor and mental nerves

During an Dental extraction surgery, I had two nerves damaged almost five years ago. Since then, I've tried these nerves medicines, Gabapentin, Lyrica, Trileptal, Cymbalta, Oxcarbazepine, Nortriptyline. I also did two years of IV Subcutaneous Lidocaine Treatments. All ineffective/ failed.
I also had Motor Cortex Stimualtion Surgery, with an electrode placed on the Dura of the brain and a wire connected to a pacemaker in my chest, this surgery failed. I tried several pain medications, now I'm on Diladid and T'3s together, every two hours.
Can anyone tell me if Botox is something to try ? Has anyone tried it for lower face nerve pain?

Hello Little Laney & welcome to the forum. Wow, so sorry to read what you have been dealing with, cannot imagine that type of pain.

I have not heard of Botox being used for this type of situation. Is this something your dr has recommended? If so, I would be asking him questions about it. I know Botox is used for migraine headaches & for severe muscle spasms & a few other conditions.

I receive both nerve blocks and botox for trigeminal nerve pain due to TMJ replacements.
I do know that it can be hard persuading insurance to cover it, but I was able to get the procedure approved. Facial pain is awful and I'm sorry you are having to deal with it.

Is this something your Dr wants you to try?
