My new Cervical MRI Report...

Well it would have been nice to say that your issues have not progressed or worsened but if your previous scans were not adequate and thorough there's no way of knowing if these are new problems or in what degree they have worsened.

It's certainly telling,certainly concerning,what's the Doc's take? If you have not seen him or spoken to him since the reports in I certainly would be getting a appointment set up to go over it and what suggestions he may have so you can start the research and decision making process.

Also personally I would hold off on the injections of any kind until speaking with the Dr and only then would I do them under flouroscopy simply because of the large and many anatomical changes and the degree of issues beyond normal.

In simple terms if he's inserting needles in my back with all the narrowing and curves he darn well needs to see where that needles going!!

Scary enough I always do them under anesthesia since actually watching how close that needle is to my spine would likely cause me to flinch at least run at most,neither of which is advisable!! Lol

I wonder if the radiologist had the old films and reports to compare with the most recent? I always take my films with me so they can be compared. This way, we know if there is anything 'new' going on. All but one of my M.R.I.s was done laying down. Mysteriously, the one upright one I had showed no sign of the osteophyte that had been noted on a previous film. Osteophytes don't just disappear! Positioning makes a big difference on what they can see and what becomes 'hidden'.

I have two sets of prior MRIs and will bring one or both with me to the doctor. Unfortunately, the way he runs things, he lines up appointments for injections, you consult with him, then he does the injection -- rather than two separate appointments. That frustrates me as it doesn't give me time to research if he suggests anything other than what I'm expecting.

I also still need to confirm all this with insurance, make sure it is all in-network. The procedure is scheduled for the 29th -- though I might reschedule.

Pitmon and Chartreux, note also that radiologists can vary in what they see. My 2010 MRI is very detailed, then my 2012 MRI says almost nothing -- it was such a meager report, I brought the 2012 MRI to the 2010 radiologist to write up a new report.
