1 year after surgery

It all started when I was 9. My brother hit me with a shopping cart and broke my ankle and when it grew back over time it had shredded my Achilles tendon but I had no pain or problems with it. about 3 years ago maybe even 4 I was shopping at whole foods in my town and as luck would have it some guy hits my same ankle 9 years later and that's when it all hit me. I could barely walk at times, I could not preform my duties at work without complaints of my ankle. I delta with it for 3 years and finally got it checked out. After walking on my injury for 14 years with 2 injuries I needed to get my deformed heel bone shaved and my Achilles tendon anchored into my heel. 1 year post op. My ankle is even worse but now I'm to afraid to get another doctor to look at it because I'm terrified to get another surgery and have it fail yet again. What should I do?

Crazy how you had the same "accident' 9 years later! What are the chances??

Sorry you are in pain. I noticed one comment you made about being afraid to go to another doc because you are worried about another surgery…..just reminding you that seeing another doc does in no way mean you agree to surgery. Even if you go to the doc and they recommend surgery, it's your call. Yes, they are trained in medicine, but you are trained in your body and mind. So go see another doc and just remember that if you don't like what they say/recommend, just don't go back.

I hope you find resolution for your pain, and maybe when you go grocery shopping, wrap some bubble wrap around that ankle and put a sign on your back like those trucks that say "stay back 500 feet". Keep those people who don't have smarts or spacial control skills away!!
