I totally agree that the bt med and er med should be different. My doctor likes to prescribe that way and I've always asked for them to be different. I've learned a lot of this site in turn I think I've educated my doctor on pain pills. She always says she's learned a lot because of my "case" . I love that she really listens to my concerns and treats me with respect. Every couple of months I write her a pain journal and tell her about
any new treatment I've tried and natural stuff that works really well. But now that they are different it should be better.
Just be honest and maybe write a pain journal of your own. I'm currently taking oxymorphone er 30mgx2/day, Norco 10/325 2-4x/ day for bt and morphine ir 30mg 1-2x at night. I do this because the Norco actually gives me energy and helps with depression, and the morphine just makes me lazy and tired so it's great for nighttime. Then the oxymorphone 2x a day for extended relief. This combo works great for me but I don't think a lot of doctors like to prescribe 2 ir meds. Mine is just wonderful and compassionate. She said if medical marijuana were legal here she would be prescribing it. I so wish it was!!!
Good luck to you....I'm sure if your honest with them things will work out..
