My vision was also effected when I was on Topamax, although my eyes tend to be very sensitive to medications. I don't remember any paraesthesia, but it was quite a few years ago now. Topamax didn't help me much, so between the poor efficacy and side effects, I wasn't on it for too long.
Congrats on your dad coming home. That is great news! And good luck with your stellate ganglion block. I've had several of those myself. It was always a weird feeling dealing with the Horner's syndrome for the first few hours after the block. But it came in handy during my first year of veterinary school, when I was the only student in the class who knew what Horner's was and how to recognize it!
