Hi, I read this forum periodically since I see a PM doc for medication induced peripheral neuropathy but I usually post on the UC forum. about 2 weeks ago I submitted my routine urine sample for drug screening at my PM clinic. I received a phone call a few days later from the RN telling me I had tested positive for vicodin and morphine along with my prescribed meds of percocet and gabapentin. My doc was basically giving me an opportunity to explain the results. I emphatically told the nurse there was no explanation and that there was absolutely no reason for a positive other than percocet. I submitted a new sample last week and sat down face to face with my PM doc and once again told her I had not taken either drug, had no access, wouldn't jeopardize my job, etc. Today the sample came back positive for only the meds that I take. I just wanted to share my experience because as I researched how they test urine samples for PM clients, the GC/MS is the "gold standard" and the results are rarely doubted. Even my doc told me she had never had a patient with erroneous results.
