Hello all :)
I've been in a medication limbo while healing from a few surgeries over the last 4 months. The powers that be have decided to go the Cytoxan+Rituxan route. The best part is that it's a 12hr infusion! What could be better???
Oh wait…I know what is better, BIG clumps of hair in my brush.
Unfortunately, one of the side effects of Cytoxan is bladder pain and blood in urine. Lucky me, I am experiencing this problem. I can honestly say that this is not the most painful issue that I have, but it's a different type of pain. I can't seem to find a way to treat it. I'm already on a number of meds for nerve pain, and other pain meds. A heating pad helps, but I'm just going to have to find a way to deal with it.
I mentioned in an earlier thread that I'm decreasing my meds to the lowest possible dose. Multiple surgeries and procedures each year blow my tolerance out of the water. But this is oh, so, so hard. I've had to completely revamp my pain scale, and I'm really struggling. I'm currently sitting around a 5 (worst pain EVER being an 8-jaw replacement). It's almost like I'm ranking my level of being miserable. Since surgeries are guaranteed, meeting the needs of the present and planning for those of the future is a precarious balance.
This is just not fun…not even the slightest.
