I received my second lumbar facet injection today. My previous ones put me down for days so I requested a pain patch to go with my usual oxy dose. The doc prescribed the new Flector Patch. No idea what it was. Find out it's basically ibuprofen.
Completely useless with the intense pain on my back, after the loca anesthesia wore off. And the price was insane, I had to call my insurance for approval and it was off the charts for deductible.
Anyone else have luck with these things? So far seems like they're for a bruised toe max mad

Hello & welcome to Healing Well. I am not sure what you mean about the new Flector Patches because they have been around for quite a few years. The patches are an NSAID & used for treating inflammation. Before kicking dirt on them I would give them a little time, I would imagine with the injection there is some inflammation going on & perhaps in a little time this may help. What type of patches were you thinking the dr would rx?

A Flector Patch makes sense. The other patches-Fentanyl, Butrans-are used for longterm pain relief and need to build up in your system over time.

Is there a different type of patch you were expecting?

I hope that when the injection pain calms down, you will find yourself in less pain.
