Hi everyone I am in a pain management program and see the doctor every week and he writes me a prescription for subutex, I saw him yesterday and got my prescription I have only been seeing him for a month, yesterday I got my prescription and put it in my purse I got up and went to work I got out and went to fully my prescription and it wasn't in my purse I looked everywhere even the trash can at my work and I can't find it anywhere I don't know what to do I can't be without my medicine but I'm. Afraid to call the doctor and tell them it's lost because it's a strict proton and I don't want to get kicked out which I've heard that's happened for not filling it on top of that if I don't fill it he will know so either way I'm scared I can't be with out my meds and I'm afraid to lose my doctor also I don't know what to do any suggestions

Ugh-I hate that this happened to you.

I'm not sure what your Dr will say. If you were a longstanding patient, you might be given a bit more leeway.

I guess just cross your fingers and let the office know.

Also-don't go to another dr, like your reg Dr, to get a script to cover for your next appointment. Then you really would be raising and waving a HUGE red flag.

I wish I had some magic answer, but I'll cross my fingers for you.

I think all you can do, and the best thing to do, is to go back to the Dr and explain what happened. No matter what the response is, it's better than trying to lie about it.

Was there a time when your purse was not where you could see it at work? Do you live alone ? If you do or even if you don't, was anyone at your house after you got your prescription ? Where did you go from the time you left your drs office yesterday until today when you noticed your prescription wasn't in your purse? It is possible that someone stole your prescription.
