Hello & welcome to Healing Well & the chronic pain forum. Prior to the six months is there anything you can think of that may have triggered the pain? Did you do something with your hands that could have triggered this? It could be anything from tendonitis to possibly even RA. Then it could be a situation of over use & sometimes there are no answers when the drs cannot give an answer. The possibilities are wide open. Something to consider is to ask your dr to refer you to a hand specialist for a consult. Plain film xrays will only show fractures, breaks & arthritis. Not saying your primary care is missing something but considering the length of time this has been going on you really need to see a hand specialist.
Take care.
I worked as a data entry clerk for two years. I went to the doctor shortly after it started and got braces. It helped a bit but the pain just continued to get worse. I quite my job three months ago and have been on rest, but it doesn't seem to be enough. I suspect tendonitis. I mentioned this to my doctor but she just shrugs her shoulders and refuses to give me a diagnoses or even help me with my pain. I'll talk to her about
that hand specialists.
Thanks for your help.
