think I saw a wolf

Yesterday we went up to Ft. Worth from Houston (daughter is getting married soon, wedding plans) so on the drive up on hwy45 between Huntsville and Corsicana I saw what looked to be a grey wolf sitting in the tall grass in the median. I did not have time to snap a photo, but I do remember the greyish black snout. If you ever see one its hard to forget. I also saw lots of Hawks...Coopers Hawks...(sp?)
But this wolf was neat to see, but do I need to call forrest services because it was in the median? not a dog mind you as no cars around it or rest stops either and it was too big for a dog..

That's so cool!

I get deer in my backyard and every once in a while a bear.

My good friend was driving home one day and hit a deer. That freaked her out a bit, so she got out of her car for a min, and then continued on her way. 10min later, she hit a bear! She was driving about an hour for work, and this is on roads with no traffic, so it's not like she's stuck in rush hour. I told her maybe it was God telling her to move closer to the school :)

I wouldn't worry about calling, it's probably long gone anyway.

I live where wolves supposedly aren't in the wild, but my husband and I did see one on the edge of a highway near us a while back. We're very used to seeing coyotes, which are smaller, so we knew what we saw was a definitely a wolf. The only explanation we could come up with is that someone in the area was keeping one as a "pet" and it either got out of its pen or was released. The one we saw crossed the highway in front of us and stopped up on a berm on the side of the road and and stared back at us for a moment before going into the high grass.
