Hi all! I feel like I am a bit bad for complaining about
my pain when there are so many who have it much worse. I'm 38 years old and have undergone multiple surgeries for endometriosis, adenomyosis, gallbladder disease, appendectomy, and finally a hysterectomy. My pain began after bed rest with my 4th child. I couldn't do anything without being in constant pain. I was nursing so didn't take anything but Tylenol until I had a hysterectomy 6 months later. I went to physical therapy, chiropractor, massage therapist, and finally went to pain meds for relief. After about
six more months I fell on a bowling lane chasing the little one to the pins. Landed on my sacram and left hip. I hit the floor hard enough to lose control of my bladder.
Since then I have been in chronic pain. Ive had x-rays, CT and MRI of the lumbar region which revealed arthritis in L4,L5. They did not however do my pelvis/sacram area. They have scheduled that for next week. I've had 2 epidurals which only made it worse, and 2 steroid injections in my SI joints with no relief. My pain goes back and forth between each side. I have been on and off Hydrocodone and Oxycodone for almost 3 years and was finally sent to a PM doctor last month. He put me back on Oxycodone 7.5mg 4x per day which worked well but I needed to take 2 to get any real relief so I went through my script
quickly. When I went back to Dr on Thursday he changed me to Nucynta 75mg/4x/day. I feel like it is making me crazy, but it is not taking away any pain. I called my Dr on Friday and he said stay on Nucynta until he can see me next week. I've been dizzy, nauseas, diarrhea, no appetite, fatigued, shaky, anxious, blurred vision, and again no pain relief.
I am also on a steroid pack. I have colitis and history of ulcers so no NSAIDS allowed. From taking ibuprofen for 20 years for endometriosis, my gut is shot.
I also take Celexa for anxiety and PTSD 30mg a day.
I've looked back at the boards and there are some on Nucynta, but they are very old and from when the medicine first came out. I'm here asking about
others experience who use or have used Nucynta recently.
Thanks in advance for any help!
BTW Dr said to take phenergan or zofran for nausea. That's all well and good except it makes me sleep and I have 4 kids to take care of around here!
