Dental implants and grafting after years of opioid pain medicin

Hi,
I had 2 the teeth out about 7 years ago. They left me with chronic pain that is constant . I stopped doing anything more after visiting ever kind of dr I could think of.there were no answers just different names. Including and easiest to understand phantom pain.

I have one more tooth I would like to take out on the same line, the surgeon would put in an implant right away to avoid bone loss but can't promise the tooth won't hurt. After this long I can't go on without trying. I know he is an excellent periodontist and at this point I want to have teeth again and see if this last one will take the pain away.
My question is has anyone had success with implants after being on opioid pain meds for many years, or does this make my jaw and bone more susceptible to break?

I can't answer your question & be 100 percent positive however, I do know of members here in the past that had implants & they were continuing to take narcotics. So, my thinking there is no role in them affecting implants & the same with breaking of the jaw. You best source is asking your specialist. I have a very long history of narcotics & they have not affected my mouth. If this is something you have read on the web somewhere you really have to be careful because there is too much bad info out there.
