Possible over active gallbladder or diverticulitis?

Forgot to ask, what did your surgeon say about the condition of your gallbladder when it was removed? Did it show inflammation, stones, etc??

Yep, I posted this to you a couple of comments ago, lol. You need to be careful with the amounts & foods that you eat, your body needs time to adjust to the gallbladder being gone. It can take a few weeks for things to settle down & get back in synch.

I meet with the surgeon assistant on Tuesday for my followup. The surgical wounds are fine and I went back to work on Monday. So far my digestion seems normal, no D, however I do have a sort of constant pain in my upper right back next to my shoulder blade. Stools are a little light in color. I have also been feeling what I would describe as "bone pain" in my arms and legs/joints. This came on after I had some chicken curry for lunch on Monday, so I'm not sure what that means. I am still sticking to a low-fat diet for now with no caffeine. I have a bit or morning nausea like I had in the past, and this is always relieved by warm lemon water-- not sure why.

One thing I have been thinking about the past few days is either sphincter of oddi dysfunction or chronic pancreatitis. My symptoms could really line up with either of those conditions, although I don't think I drank enough alcohol for pancreas problems (I was a 2-3 a night for a number of years), but perhaps that is enough to do it (what I have read is 150g (~11 drinks) a day for 6-12 years). I have not had any alcohol for over a month now. I have heard that sphincter of oddi could be made worse after gallbladder removal, so maybe there is something going on with that. There is also the issue of my only being 11 days out of surgery, and I have read multiple accounts of people having right back pain after gallbladder removal.

As far as chronic pancreatitis I did have a clear CT scan and my lipase and amylase were tested 3 times and where normal all times, but I have also heard they can be normal as well in chronic P. I guess I would need a EUS to really know what's going on, or perhaps my surgeon got a look at it during surgery (although it is behind the stomach, so probably not). Also, I have never had pain in the middle or left of my abdomen or left back-- always right. It has also never been about a 6-7/10 I would say. This would be one of the worst case scenarios, based on what I have read about chronic pancreatitis-- you can last a while with care and very strict diet but it can be a brutal existence...

Shawna333, this member has not been back to the forum since December 2017. We can only assume that he/she had a successful recovery from the surgery. People tend to move on once they start feeling well.
