Hello all. I live in Florida and may be evacuating from Irma. Our governor says residents can get a 30 day emergency refill of their meds. What about pain meds where I need a script every month? My pain scripts will run out next week and I have my usual follow up on Thursday of next week? Any idea what I am supposed to do? Anyone ever been in my boat?

Call your doctor first thing in the morning. A lot may depend on how hard Irma is expected to hit your area.

I live on the east coast near cocoa beach which is middle Florida on the Far East side.

Put ALL medications in a zip lock type bag. Wet meds won't help.

In Texas, due to the State of Emergency from Hurricane Harvey, it is up to the pharmacist to decide if a Schedule II med can be refilled without getting in touch with the doctor.

If you live in a disaster area, go to your State Board OF Pharmacy website to see what special rules are in effect.
