Decent pain control with buprenorphine

Hello I've posted here in the past.
Basically I suffer failed back syndrome. I Have bad knees and awful elbow arthritis all of which are painful.
I Have been on the gamut from hydrocodone to methadone to morphine.
I Am addictive by nature beging sober 32 years now from alcohol.
I entered into a clinical trial in 2008 using buprenorphine for pain patients who were having issues taking pain medication as prescribed. I was amazed at how well it first took away my acute withdrawal symptoms then helped my pain.
I was on it over a year then slowly went off.I stayed off a year then slowly went back on as I could not bear the pain.
I mostly post in prostate cancer now but offer my experience in case it may be of benefit since so many pain doctors are stopping opiate prescriptions.

To add my pain doctors dropped all patients who were on opioid medications. Gave them 60 day's to get new doctors. They helped with suggestions but they could no longer deal with the oversight. The exception was buprenorphine patients.

That's good news.
My wife found another doctor who saw her today and will prescribe her Percocet. Many doctors still will prescribe but some just do not want to deal with the DEA and other oversight.

BTW she in no way abuses her medications. She always has several left at the end of the month
