SI Joint Pain after injections

Hello everybody,
It's my first time posting. Anyway, about a week ago I had a Trigger point injection in my SI joint. I gave it the 4 days of ice and heat suggested but am finding that I am in more pain than previous to the injection. I suffer from sever arthritis in my lower back and joints and this was my 3rd injection over the period of 2 yrs. The 2 prior injections were successful within a few days but this one has not only exasperated my existing pain, but has actually caused new pain. Besides the pain in my hips and lower back, I am now having pain down right buttock, my right leg all the way to my foot. As I sit here the pain is just awful. Pain medication is doing nothing. I am emotionally drained from this. Has anybody experienced this? Any suggestions?

Hi Penelope7, we've had some members feel worse after an injection instead of better. It stinks because we try so many things to get relief. Just my thoughts, I think when this happens the dr has not injected the area in the right place & did the medication used get changed from your prior injections. Did the dr say anything about contacting him in so many days if you were not any better or worse? Myself, I would give things a week & then contact the dr.either through a patient portal or a phone call.
