B, here is a list of things members have all recommended for surgery that helped with their recovery at home.
A recliner to sleep in, if you have one or an adjustable bed great. Most said it was more comfortable to sleep in a recliner at first, too painful & difficult trying to get in & out of bed. If you don't have one consider renting one or borrowing one from a family member.
Take your medication on a schedule, set timers for reminders. It is best to stay on top of the pain & not let it get out of control, same with your muscle relaxer. Ask the surgeon to call in your medications a couple of days before surgery so you will have it once you are home. If pain medication tends to constipate you, get a stool softener. Have plenty of water on hand, bendable straws, easy foods that can be heated in the microwave, shirts or blouses that are button up, you don't want to try to raise your arms up for a pullover shirt, cold packs, slip on shoes that are not slick on your floors, remove throw rugs so you don't trip on them, if you have a walk in shower get a non-slip stool to sit on if you don't feel like standing very long. You should be given discharge instructions on bathing. Get a reacher/grabber, these are neat gadgets to pick up things off of the floor & can be found at most pharmacies & Walmart. We have 2 metal ones that we use all the time. Get a front closure bra, easier to put on when you need to wear one. Follow your post op instructions to the letter. I have probably left out some things. Let your husband help you out, you need to spend your energy healing.
Keep us posted.
