4 level cervical fusion swallowing problems

I'm 6 weeks post op 4 level acdf. I was under for 5 hours instead of 2 and a half, and swallowing has been a significant issue. At 3-4 weeks out I felt like I could eat a better variety of foods. For the last 2 weeks I have had globus sensation and was put on Valium to calm down about that. For the past week it takes me 3 swallowing to get a sip of water down, and eating even soft foods are so hard to swallow. I guess I am looking for some advice or encouragement that this will improve. Also, if you have experienced it, did you do ot or any therapy to improve swallowing. I'm starting to lose weight due to not being able to eat, and I'm getting pretty frustrated.
