I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum for this, but it does cause me chronic pain!

Here goes:

I've had 4-5 surgeries to remove cysts from my ovary (only the left side; the right one's always clear or only has a small one that goes away on its own); I'm about to get another one removed. 

I tried continuous birth control, then surgeries and am now on the BC again...which obviously is still not doing its "job". 

My question is- has anyone just had an ovary removed to fix the problem?  And how has that affected your fertility?

Jess, I had one large cyst from which they drained 2.5 liters of fluid. By the time they got me to the OR, there was nothing left of my ovary to save, so I lost that entire ovary and the tube too. I have not yet tried to get pregnant but am hoping to do so this year. My GYN doesn't seem to think I'll have any problem.

My cousin also lost an ovary to a cyst. She had one daughter and then got pregnant with twin boys, so losing her ovary didn't make any difference to her fertility. This is something you'll need to discuss in more detail with your OB/GYN, especially in regards to your general health and age.

I hope you can find answers quickly and dont' have any future problems.

I have heard of a lot of people having an ovary removed, especially if your history show cyst favoring one side most of the time. My problems is sometimes, it rotates every other month which ovary chooses to develop a cyst. But usually its only my left side.
Remeber the ovary is location in the creativity Chacra, and deals with one-on-one relationships (engery medicine) so listen to what your body may be telling you
