Hi all, I would like to get a current sort of consensus as to the benefits of accupuncture for chronic pain. Honestly, I am a huge sceptic about
this. I tried it once...one session. It didn't help at all, and actually left me pretty sore where the needles had been. I realize that I didn't give it much of a chance, but I did wonder why if it was going to provide any relief, why not immediately?
I didn't think to ask the doctor what I should expect for results - how much relief, when I should see it, etc.
I would really appreciate other CP sufferer's opinions regarding Accupuncture. And if is something that you currently use as part of your treatment, would it be enough to treat your pain by itself? If not - why? So, I'm interested in any people who exclusively use only accupuncture to treat your chronic pain, how much relief you get, etc. In addition, I'm interested in people who use accupuncture in conjunction with things like opiates, and again, how much relief you get from the accupuncture, how long it took to begin seeing results, etc.
Input greatly appreciated - people who swear by it, people who think it's a complete waste of time, and anything inbetween.
