HI it;s been a while i have a question about disablilty, supposivly sorry bout spelling a friend told me today that i would probably not be eligible to get on it because they don;t recongonise osteoarthritis as a disability, also have severe back troubles etc. And as well as being treated for anxiety/depression/ptsd etc. So not sure, i have the forms filled out and waiting for pysch doc to return from holidays so he can fill out his info, and my family doc will also be able to provide information as well, i have MRI"S- X-Rays etc to back up what is wrong with me so i don't think that i should have a problem, my knee situation has tp be re evaluated  my doc said i could try the shots or condsider surgery being the last option. I see him on the 10th of this month and will need new x-rays to show if there is more damage and if so we can discuss options then. Anyway thanks for listening and letting vent a bit any input is welcome and apprceiated thanks in advance Twiggy2.

Hi Twiggy not real sure how to answer your questions. One thing I do know SSD can be awarded to individuals who suffer with depression. You may be able to get it with the arthritis I suppose if it can be documented by way of x-rays that show the severity of the disease. Also alot depends on what your dr writes in your chart. tHE ONLY WAY THAT YOU WILL KNOW IF YOU QUALIFY FOR ssdi is to file a claim.  Nobody else can tell you.  Disability is defined as the inability to engage in substantial gainful activity because of an impairment,  The impairment must exist. but is NOt the determining factor.  If your problems prevent you from working, go for it. and stick to it through the entire appeals process.  Good Luck

thanks for the input. I will not get my hopes up to high for approval, however i will fight for it as long as it takes. I know that it depends on the severity of the damage in the knee, Tylenol 3's is what i take for pain however not much of a help however anti inflammatories don;t help the greated either if if gets unbareable i will take an oxycodone but only if necessary. I have bulging disks from the thoratic level down to my tail bone area but not pinching any nerves so surgery is not an option, been to physical therapy, blah, blah and so i go with the flow one day at a time. Anyway i will keep u posted as to how things are going. twiggy2.

Just a guick pop in. Have a doc appointment in the morning yeah not. I have been so fatigued and sleeping half the days away. Sometimes only a day here but the last two days in a row just had no energy and constant pain. I know i have to rembember to tell him this at my appointment. Can pain really have that much of an effect on a person? Well gonna go for now let u know how things go. Twiggy2.

hi there well my appointment sucked as usual. Explained how the muscle relaxants weren;t really helping very much he mentioned possibly getting a nerve block and in the next sentence said that it could make th epain worse. I said no thanks in enough pain now and i would keep in mind, as for my keens i am going for x-rays this morning and we will go from there. He said about going to an orthopedic specialist is nessecary and they can treat my knees. I am 30 yrs old and he said that i am to young for replacement sugery so maybe there will other options.. So for now have a refill for tylenol 3 and has helped a bit which is good. However i thought that i was going to have to go to the hospital after work last night because my knees were in a lot of pain. Well we'll see what happen i guess thanks for letting me vent.
