Yes, alot of us here with back problems understand totally what you have been going thru. I also know what you mean about
opiates, but you know you gotta do what you gotta do to be able to function on a daily basis.
I take it its your PCP that prescribed the Percs. Be very honest with him/her about the medication losing its its umph on you. But that happens alot more than you think. There is alot of different pain medications available now a days. Will keep my fingers crossed you get something that works well. Its happened with me on pain, antidepressant, blood pressure medicine, and just last week my gi had to switch me from Acephex to Prevacid. Anything you take long term always has the potential of not being effective any longer after a period of time.
I have an intrathcal pain pump and we have been having weather changes that has absolutely ripped me a new one. I have been walking bent over for awhile now and this is really bothering me. I have bursitis in both hips that is very painful. When I walk I feel like my legs are being jammed up into my back. I finally broke down yesterday and took one of my pain pills. I have Dilaudid for pain pills plus that is the main drug in my pump. Its helping, at least I don't want to jump out any windows, lol. I just hate it though, because I am so hard headed, I want to totally rely on my pump only, I know this is wrong. I just don't want back in the oral medication routine again. I am going to call tomorrow and reschedule having a radio frequency done to the nerve endings, that will alleviate some of this pain.
Please let us know what your dr says about some new meds.
